About

The Global Learning Expedition is a highly interactive online experiential learning programme brought to you by multi-award-winning design experts Petrus, together with outstanding academic, industry and community partners.

Working in interdisciplinary, international teams, selected students from all backgrounds and profiles tackle real-world challenges carefully designed to generate innovative and critical thinking on a range of inspiring themes underpinned by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

With inspirational talks, skills workshops, career insights, networking sessions and creative teamwork supported by world-class coaches, all participants gain essential workplace skills and discover a range of industries and potential career paths, to hit the ground running on their career-search.

Discover Thriving Online 2021

In September 2021 we gathered students from around the world for the biggest ever edition of The Global Learning Expedition. Students worked over seven days in international and interdisciplinary teams to address the challenge of ‘Thriving Online’ in education, society and the digital workplace.

Participants heard from Airbus, Google, Capgemini, Siemens, AWS, Total, Kuehne+ Nagel and Adidas with workshops on intercultural teamwork, nailing your pitch, and an introduction to Human-Centered Design. We also heard from a leading global expert on embedding sustainability into education, culminating with live presentations in front of an expert jury.

How to Get Involved

Programmes are designed with and for our partners and can be tailored for one organisation, an existing network of organisations or institutions, or a diverse global range of organisations brought together by Petrus for the duration of the programme.

Participating universities whose students join an expedition can nominate faculty to join the coaching or speaker and expert team, thereby gaining invaluable insight on how to make online international experiential learning and virtual exchange work. Training, documentation, support and guidance is provided.

Corporate partners can sponsor students, interns or graduate trainees to join a programme. Participants can be identified by the company or selected by the event team. Company representatives can join as speakers, experts, jury or coaches to engage with this international student community and gain insights from the next generation of talent.
